Allied Esports Entertainment subsidiary brand, Allied Esports, has recently inked a sponsorship and licensing agreement with Esports Entertainment Group, a licensed Malta-based online gambling company focused on esports betting and 18+ gaming, for an online game tournament on August 31, 2020. The game featured in this tournament is Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) and is hosted by the company’s online betting platform, VIE.gg.
Vie.gg’s CS:GO Legend Series tournament has a purse of €50,000 up for grabs as 12 teams from different parts of Europe compete against one another in a 5 vs 5 team match to see who is the best. The tournament will span for two-weeks and will include 11 consecutive days of group-stage matches where teams will accumulate points and prize money for each win. The eight teams with the highest points from the first round will advance to the next round, competing in a best-of-three bracket on the mainstage until the grand finals, over the course of three days. Esports Entertainment Group puts a spin on the tournament as it is licensed and regulated, offering a secure exchange style wagering on esports. The games are made available on the company’s Vie.gg platform allowing customers to place various kinds bets against one another. Vie.gg will take a small commission on the winnings, a standard practice in the industry.
The tournament will be produced by Allied Esports from its HyperX Esports Studio in Hamburg, Germany, and will be broadcasted live on Twitch.tv with a lineup of professional casters and analysts. Only teams ranked Tier 2 and below are able to apply on July 15 and invitations will be sent out to participating teams on July 17.
Grant Johnson, chief executive officer of Esports Entertainment Group, mentioned that partnering with an industry leader as the sponsor of their newest tournament is exciting. He also said that Allied Esports’ sponsorship will boost VIE.gg’s brand awareness and accelerate its platform adoption because it will be the centre of attention of participating teams, fans, and influencers all over the world.
Frank Ng, chief executive officer of Allied Esports Entertainment, also said that their company believes that esports should not only be for the participants but also for sponsors as well. He explained that these events should have the ability to help sponsors achieve their goals and the company has the experience and industry knowledge to help their partners satisfy their needs in the current market. He further added that Allied Esports Entertainment is thrilled to work with Esports Entertainment Group and the Vie.gg platform as this will add a wagering component to the tournament, allowing them to captivate new consumers and enhance their brand further.
The Allied Esports’ original Legend Series tournament was created back in 2017 and the goal of the brand was to expand and enhance second and third-tier teams, giving them the opportunity to compete and enhance the competitive scene and prize pool of this bracket. The incoming tournament is the sixth edition and the first to feature a licensing partner and sponsor.
