NetEnt to enter West Virginia market with BetMGM partnership

NetEnt, one of Sweden’s foremost igaming providers, is set to enter West Virginia’s recently regulated igaming market with igaming operator, BetMGM, marking the Swedish content supplier’s first entry into the said market.
This partnership is not the first collaboration between the two as BetMGM has already been working with NetEnt for some time as it has been offering NetEnt’s gaming portfolio in the New Jersey online gaming market. The partnership will allow BetMGM to offer its customers new and popular titles courtesy of NetEnt, allowing both companies to further expand their reach in the newly regulated market. NetEnt has been able to provide its gaming portfolio to authorized operators as it has recently received a temporary license from the regulating authorities in West Virginia. The agreement follows a strong period of growth for NetEnt in the US, after recently reporting triple-digit increases in quarterly gross gaming revenue in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
The West Virginian online gaming market is relatively new as it has recently opened in July with DraftKings as the state’s first online casino. BetMGM followed suit, joining the market in August. BetMGM initially offered thirty games to its West Virginia customers but it had already planned to rapidly expand its offerings through various suppliers, including NetEnt. BetMGM serves as ROAR Digital’s online gaming and sports betting sub-brand. Roar Digital is a joint venture of the US casino operator MGM Resorts International and European gambling giant GVC Holdings
Brian Kraft, NetEnt Vice President Commercial, Americas has commented on this partnership saying that BetMGM’s rapid success in the US has been impressive and shows no signs of slowing down, making this partnership a significant deal for NetEnt as it continues to expand its reach across the USA. He also added that thanks to the strong performance of the company’s games in the local US market, the USA is now a major revenue driver for the company and that it looks forward to working with BetMGM to accelerate to the growth of both companies.
Matthew Sunderland, BetMGM’s Vice President of Gaming also commented on this recent partnership praising its partner by saying that the BetMGM has observed great success with NetEnt’s content in New Jersey. He also added that NetEnt’s team understands the market well and knows how to appeal to customers, making this partnership a major advantage as the company strengthens and expands its existing casino offerings in the West Virginian market.
This partnership news comes after NetEnt’s recent moves in the European market as the company has recently upgraded its Malta live gambling studio in partnership with EveryMatrix, as a response to an increase in market demands. The company has also been working hard in the past months through many deals and significant investments. It has also been improving and growing its core live casino game library through the addition of various new games and new game formats while also advancing its in-house chroma-key technology which has paved the way for high definition live casino game streaming on multiple consumer platforms.
